The Collingwood 2026 Nike Anzac Day Guernsey honours the stories of the young VFL / AFL players who wore Collingwood’s stripes as well as serving their country as an ANZAC.Â
This year's design depicts a powerful visual contrast of the footballers who became soldiers and how their lives were forever changed.
On the front of the jumper, silhouettes of soldiers stand in formation, paying tribute to their service and sacrifice.Â
At the centre, one soldier sounds The Last Post, a military tradition marking the close of the day. Behind them, the Gallipoli landscape stretches across the guernsey, reflecting both the physical and emotional climb soldiers endured.Â
At their feet, poppies bloom – a powerful symbol for Australians – recalling the flowers that grew across the battlefields of the First World War.Â
On the back of the jumper, silhouettes of footballers on match-day highlight the memory of the life they once lived and left behind.Â
In the background stands Victoria Park, Collingwood’s spiritual home, where many of the Club’s players once took the field before answering the call to serve. Victoria Park was a second home to many, representing family and community.
This contrast of the front and back of the jumper highlights the sudden and significant change experienced by a generation of young men whose stories continue to shape the Club and Australia’s history today.
